The Difference Between the World That God Created and the World That We Now Know:
Why it Matters, and What We Can Do

Foreword:
It took much longer than expected to write this. During the process, I questioned all that I learned throughout life’s first half. Here is what I now know for certain: there is fundamental truth by which we are to live. There is wisdom that is beyond question. Learning of God…His love, His wisdom, and His instructions for mankind, is the key to all that we need and long for…as individuals, as a culture as a race.

A World of His Own examines the difference between the world that God created and the world that we have now, and the impact of that difference upon our lives. It explores possibilities for change.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts,” Isaiah 55:9.

Preface:
I grew up in a middle-class Midwestern home with parents who loved and encouraged me. As an adult, I’ve gotten what I’ve needed to get by and never experienced personal tragedy. Still, my life has not been easy. What has made life difficult for me is that I, along with others who live less by logic than the heart, have struggled to find my way in a world whose logic has seldom made sense. My greatest challenges include enduring twelve years of public education, acknowledging the illusions my education taught me to accept, and discovering what is real. My experience of public education, as both student and professional; my career as a corporate pilot and pursuit of the American Dream; a midlife call to counseling children; joblessness; homelessness; healing from life-threatening illness; and five years of travel with a worldwide ministry—have all shaped what I and this book have become.

A World of His Own speaks of illusions, awakenings, and the only truth we have.
